This webinar, on Tuesday 17 November 2020, will bring together the latest thinking about how and why waste businesses can achieve net-zero.
Chris Jonas will be contributing to the discussion as a panel member alongside:
- Jacob Hayler, Executive Director, Environmental Services Association
- Dan Cooke, Chairman of ESA’s Climate Change WG
- Rachel Espinosa, Principal Consultant, Ricardo Energy & Environment
- Simon Gandy, Associate Director, Ricardo Energy & Environment
In 2019, the UK set a target which requires businesses to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050. Waste & resource management businesses, by helping the UK to make better use of the materials already produced and so reducing our need for new resources, have the potential to help avoid and reduce emissions right across the economy. However, in order to maximise this essential contribution to global carbon reduction and to support the UK in achieving its net-zero target, the waste & resource management sector also needs tackle the emissions arising from its own activities.
Attendees will have the opportunity to gain an insight into ESA’s latest work on net-zero, gain a better understanding of what meeting net-zero means for waste businesses and the steps required to get there.
